Arsenal’s 2-0 victory against Tottenham was bittersweet for Arsene Wenger’s side as they now have to cope without having Theo Walcott for around 6 months as he picked up a knee ligament injury.

It was initially not expected that the Englishman would have to face such a serious blow as he was being stretched out of the match not appearing to be in any kind of pain as Walcott even smiled as he was being removed from the match.

After revealing the results of his scans, Walcott was in total shock as he was surprised to know the severity of the injury as he will be missing out not only from Arsenal’s remainder of the season but the 2014 World Cup as well.

This has been one of the best seasons that Arsenal has enjoyed as they are topping the Premier League and are trying to prove that they have what it takes to claim themselves as the champions of England.

Arsene Wenger was already suffering from problems with injuries and now things get worse for him as he has to decide on what players to invest on in the transfer window as well as having to offload some deadweight from the squad in order to create enough funds and make way for fresh signings and arrivals.

The good news for Arsenal is that Oxlade-Chamberlain is close on making his return from a knee injury and the side of Wenger has also been linked with Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic although the German club has already stated that they have no desire on selling him and their other top notch target Diego Costa might be out of the reach of the Premier League title contenders.

Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata seems to be the easier target to get in this transfer window as Arsenal hopes they can settle on a loan deal for the young forward.
