Everton have confirmed that winger Theo Walcott will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this month. Theo Walcott had earlier joined the Toffees on a two-and-a-half year deal from Arsenal in January 2018 until this summer. The Gunners received £20m from Everton for the transfer.
Theo Walcott impressed during his loan spell at Southampton and he has been rewarded with a two-year deal. He will join the Saints on a free transfer officially when his Everton contract ends this month.
Apart from England international Theo Walcott, the Toffees also confirmed the departures of both Yannick Bolasie and Josh King.
Bolasie has been on loan in the English Championship with Middlebrough and he’s set for talks with the club over the possibility of signing permanently after a successful loan spell in the second half of the recently concluded Championship campaign.
For King, the Norwegian international is going back to Bournemouth in the English Championship for now after his loan spell at Everton. The attacker joined the Toffees from Bournemouth on loan in January and went on to make 11 substitute appearances without scoring a single goal. He wad not available as Bournemouth failed in their bid to return to the top flight via the playoffs. The Cherries were beaten 3-2 by London team Brentford in the playoff semi-finals.
Apart from Walcott, King and Bolasie, Bosnian midfielder Muhamed Besic and Swedish shot stopper Robin Olsen will also leave Everton this summer. Besic will leave the Toffees after his contract expires this month, while Olsen will also return to parent club AS Roma in the Italian Serie A this month at the end of his loan deal.
