Nathan Jones, the Saints boss insisted that Theo Walcott, the experienced winger will play an important role in the crucial second half of the season for the club.
The 33-year-old Saints academy graduate began only once in the Premier League this season and has been out of action recently with a calf issue before returning to a late cameo in their 2-1 victory against Blackpool. That was just the sixth appearance of Theo Walcott in the season in all competitions as he grappled for minutes amongst a crowded group of forwards at the club.
However, even as Saints are chasing attacking reinforcements in the ultimate hours of the transfer window of January, Nathan Jones thinks the rarely used 47-times England international is going to play a major role in the ultimate 5 months of the campaign.
Jones said that he is really important for us ahead of the EFL Cup semi-final second-leg combat with Newcastle. Jones also said that with his athleticism, experience, and quality he can be one of the most effective finds. He was and has been before picking up a small injury.
He states that he understands everything when they do stuff and picks up quickly because, to be honest, he has possibly been world-class from the time he started his career. Thus, it is a big bonus. So, he is going to be crucial to them. In the building, they have potency; it is just improving it, offering a structure where it can be effective. Thereafter, if they get some help, it is great.
Nathan Jones doesn’t shy away from his desire to offer attacking firepower to his team before the end of the transfer window of summer; Saints have been linked to several names.
