Arsenal went from being at the top of the Premier League to struggling just to secure a Champions League spot for the upcoming in a matter of a few weeks. There have been a number of reasons which are being thrown out as to why Arsene Wenger and his players experienced such a sudden drop of form.
There seems to be however confusion in the Premier League club as Thomas Rosicky believes that the number of injured played should not be used as an excuse for them to lose their pace and be out of the Premier League race but Arsene Wenger on the other hand believes that the injuries are an important reason on why they have fallen down a few spots in the league.
“I feel this season we lost key players at a big important moment of the season. At the moment we have too many players out and it’s important we get them back. We know that at this period of the season to have this number of players out is too many.
“Our main task next summer will be to keep the team together and think where we went wrong. There are a lot of positives in our season as well, but we have dropped off when we lost our players at an important moment of the season. That is what we don’t want to repeat.” Wenger said.
The player who is on everybody’s mind which pops up every time that Arsenal’s list of injured performers is mentioned is Theo Walcott as he was the top goal-scorer for Wenger in the previous season.
Arsenal started dropping valuable points and falling down spots in the Premier League in just about the same time in which Walcott suffered his season ending injury and then things only turned even worse for Arsenal as they had to cope with the absence of Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil.
