The injury setbacks for Jack Wilshere in the last few years have been enormous and it seems that there is no peace for the midfielder from it for the time being. He recently suffered an ankle injury just before the start of the new season. It was expected to keep him out for the next two weeks. Arsene Wenger, though, has dealt a major blow with the news that the England international will not be available until after the international break. This means that he would not only be available for Arsenal but also for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers for England.
Switzerland and San Marino are the opponents for England next month. The injury once again raises questions about the transfer policy at Arsenal. Wenger remains confident that this squad will be able to cope with the rigorous schedule over the next 10 months. However, fans will question the reasoning behind Wenger placing his faith on injury prone midfielders like Wilshere. The Frenchman, though, is confident that the rest of the squad, which includes star asset Mesut Ozil, is coming back to its best. Ozil has made a decent start to the season with a goal and an assist in the opening two games.
Wenger reckons that more is to come from the German.”It is a bit too optimistic to think he will be available for England. It is too early. After the international break he has a chance, but not before. We expect to make a signing but we are not close. He [Ozil] is a wonderful player who is completely committed to the club and focused on getting some good results,” said Wenger about the injury crisis faced by Wilshere and the form of Ozil. Arsenal take on Liverpool at the Emirates in a crunch game this weekend.
